Starting in the early 13th century, this church became the canonical center of various rich and important Florentine families who made sure that its interior and exterior were decorated by some of the finest local artists. The result is a truly rich and elegant interior without being overly ornate. In the 1960's the church was finally restored and brought back to its original splendour. The interior has isles divided by pillars made of semi-precious stone. It is the perfect size for small or large group with an intimate atmosphere.
