Special Features of Weddings in Country Relais Outside Rome
This lovely country haven lies in an ancient medieval hamlet reflected in the waters of Lake Bracciano and only 30 kilometers North of Rome. Each suite is lovingly decorated with a different theme; a remarkable naval suite faithfully copies the commander’s cabin of an 19th century ship! You will regret having to leave this haven of tranquillity!
Immersed among the green, rolling hills of the Roman countryside and surrounded by forests and pastures the Relais is also a working farm. The structure is made of the local stone and recalls the Etruscan heritage of the region. Brick archways, original prints on the walls and terracotta floors create a warm ambiance – a mix of elegance and comfort that is a delight to the eye.
The Restaurant
The restaurant occupies a large room and is subdivided in various smaller areas. It is furnished with rich tapestries and refined antiques including impressive paintings. A huge fireplace in stone with majolica tiles warms the entire atmosphere. There are some smaller private rooms and a bar where in the mornings breakfast is served. The menu reflects the local culinary heritage and specialties as does the wine list. Plate presentation is impressive and the service professional Many of the ingredients come from the farm and include beef, poultry and cheeses.
Enjoy your wedding reception in Anguillara overlooking the lake from the terrace restaurant. Cocktails can be set up so guests can take advantage of the panorama.

Hors d’oeuvre: Goat cheese tartar from our Estate with cherry tomatoes, olives and chives, served in a crispy potato nest.
First Course: Ravioli of ricotta cheese from our Estate and walnuts with pumpkin and gorgonzola cream.
Main Course: Roast kid from our estate with red wine sauce and potato tart, small glacè onions.

The Civil Wedding Ceremony
To be held in the nearby Wedding Hall of Anguillara. The ‘Palazzo’ was built around 1518 and the elaborate wall frescos in the Ceremony Room were painted by the School of Raphael. From the wide windows of the Ceremony Room you will have a breathtaking view of the lake of Bracciano and the red ‘terracotta’ weathered tiles of the roofs of the medieval Anguillara.
Wedding Carriages
Bride and Bridegroom can be driven in a coach from the Country Relais to the Wedding Hall, 3.0 km. far.
There are two possibilities :
- Driving a gig ( two wheels, one horse ), two persons ( bride, driver ), only one-way
- Driving a coach ( two wheels, one horse ), three persons ( bride, bridegroom, driver ), only one-way.
Fox Hunting and Horseback Riding at the Relais
One of the highlights of a stay at the Relais is being able to take advantage of its equestrian center and participate in the Fox Hunt (the “fox” is not real). Galloping through the magnificent countryside with a pack of hounds is an exhilarating experience!
At the Equestrian Centre & Irish Drag Hunt Club you can have dressage or jumping lessons in the sand arena, cross country field, hacking in the 150 hectares Estate, between the two Lakes of Bracciano and Martignano, among horses, cows, goats, sheep. This is the first British Horse Society approved Equestrian Centre in Italy..The horses are Irish and Italian (Irish sport horses, Maremmano crossed with the throughbread ). Bring your own boots, jodhpurs and helmet.
Golfing Excursions – two options:
- 23 km. (25’ car driving ) far from the Hotel the Golf Course of the Italian Golf Federation. 18 holes mt. 6462, Par 72 + 3 executive holes; academy golf, driving range, puttingreen, pitchingreen, chippingreen, proshop, restaurant, bar. Wednesday closed.
- 25 km (30’ car driving ) far from the Hotel. Established in 1961, there is one of the most elegant and exclusive Golf Clubs in the Roman area. 18 holes mt. 6347, Par 72; 9 holes mt. 2947, Par 36; driving range, puttingreen, pitchingreen, swimming-pool, restaurant, bar. Monday closed.
Tour of Lake Bracciano
The Lake Bracciano area has plenty of History to tell…
First the Etruscans, then the Romans lived here around this perfect circle of water founding such communities as Anguillara, Trevignano and Bracciano.
A half day tour (three hours) by chauffeur-driven limousine can be organized around the Lake. But the Top Visit is the Majestic Orsini Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano. Built in 1470 by Napoleone Orsini, it is one of the most beautiful feudal European manor houses, and the construction is an ideal meeting point between civil and military architecture. Monday is closed.
